Course content
Topics: a) several types of grammatics b) functional-structural grammatical descriptions, stratifical descriptions c) functionalistic vs. formalist grammatical descriptions d) grammatics and corpus linguistics e) grammatics and cognitiv linguistics f) grammatics and gender linguistics g) grammatical descriptions and typology, comparative linguistics h) applications of didactics and translatology

Learning outcomes
The aim of subject is to apply the theoretical and conceptional bases for descriptions of contemporary Czech grammar (in context with current model of grammar descriptions abroad)on elaborating practical tasks. Theoretical findings from the field of morphology (phonological, lexical and inflectional) and syntax (morphosyntax) are applied to text analysis. Much attention is put to typological characteristics, contrastive linguistics and to translatological and didactical applications.
Orientation in contemporary descriptions of Czech grammatics in context of foreign Slavistic and Anglo-Saxon linguistics, the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to the study of specific texts, reading foreign literature, reasoning in the panel discussion, presentations and discussion of issues
Prerequisites
Knowledge of morphology and syntax of the Bachelor's degree level

Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Didactic Test, Dialog

Individual work in teams: a) processing of the oral presentation and supplementary paper and the PowerPoint presentation in a panel discussion, range 15-20 slides, 20 minutes, 5 minutes argumentation, b) written test.
