Course content
The lecture focuses on defining the basic morphological unit and its analysis The lectures are realised with the help of the PowerPoint presentations. 1) WORD as the basic morphological unit 2) The basic concepts of morphology, morphonology and morphematics, types of morphs 3) WORD as a syntagma 4) WORDformation (in the context of the basic types of nomination in Czech) 5) WORD and morphological processes 6) WORD and its inner structure SLOVO (minimalistic version) 7) WORD and its inner structure SLOVO (maximalistic version) 8) Specifics of adjectival wordstructure and inflection 9) Specifics of verbal wordstructure and inflection 10) Czech as (non)ideal representative of the inflectional type of language 11) WORDformation in the textbooks of Czech for secondary schools

Learning outcomes
The lecture aims to explain the basic morphological terminology, the notion of the word as a syntagma and the concept of morphology as the study of the inner structure of words and thus the two twofold character of morphology (lexical and inflectional).
Basic orientation in the description of the prezent Czech morphological system, learning the basic terminology of morphonology and morphematics, knowledge of the Czech word structure, the ability of morphemic analysis, understanding morphological typology

Knowledge of basic linguistic terminology, elementary orientation in phonetics and phonology
