Course content
Proteins, their composition and structure. Saccharides and polysaccharides, their structure and metabolism. Biosynthesis of saccharides. Glycolysis, metabolism of glycogen, citrate cycle, pentose phosphate cycle. Metabolism of lipids and amino acids. Metabolism of nucleotides. Enzymes, enzyme kinetics, inhibition. Coenzymes. Substrate specificity. Isoenzymes. Enzyme catalysis. Regulation of enzyme activity. Biochemistry of regulation. Experimental methods of biochemistry. Enzyme activity assays. Separation methods. Chromatography, electrophoresis and centrifugation of biological molecules.

Get possession of complex and substantial knowledges of metabolic patheways, reciprocal interconnection and regulation.

Successful graduated studium of Bachelor of Science and Magister of Science in Biochemistry.
