Course content
Bioinformatics and structural bioinformatics. Principles of protein structure. Principles of structure DNA and RNA. Determination of the structure by crystallography, NMR and electron microscopy. Visualization of molecules, databases and data interpretation. Structural alignments. Identification of structural domains of proteins. Elucidations of protein function from structural data. Protein-protein interactions. Docking of small ligand into protein structures. Homology modeling. Structural genomics.

Learning outcomes
Obtaining advanced knowledge on the structure of nucleic acids and proteins.
Evaluate particular methods and procedures in structural bioinformatics, explain results.
Prerequisites
The course is intended for doctoral students in Biochemistry.
