Course content
Acquaintance with the instructions and requirements for the preparation of a bachelor's thesis. Searching for a professional article focused on a topic close to the topic of the bachelor's thesis. As part of the project teaching, prepare a PowerPoint presentation independently, with the aim of presenting to other students in an oral presentation, an introduction to the issue, the material and methods used, the results achieved and the resulting conclusions. Emphasis is placed on the involvement of students in the discussion, which always follows individual presentations, and both the ability to answer questions and, on the contrary, to ask questions. An integral part of the prepared presentation will be the presentation of the objectives of the assigned bachelor's thesis. Getting to know the possibilities of applying in practice - performances/performances of graduates of the biochemistry study programme. Output: Processed presentations in PowerPoint. Increasing the competitiveness of graduates on the labor market, strengthening self-confidence, independent thinking and the ability to engage in discussion.

Learning outcomes
TLearn to summarize basic information, results and conclusions from an article focused on a topic close to the subject of the bachelor's thesis. The ability to process this information clearly in the form of a PowerPoint presentation and to learn how to present published professional results and outline the goals of your bachelor's thesis. Improvement in the ability to create a professional presentation and its interpretation and search for the basic essence in a professional text. Strengthening the student's ability to participate in a discussion on a professional topic.
Obtaining detailed information regarding the requirements for the preparation of a bachelor's thesis. Ability to work with professional literature, i.e. search for professional articles focused on a topic close to the topic of the bachelor's thesis. Ability to process information from a professional article in the form of a PowerPoint presentation. Improvement in the ability to create a professional presentation and its interpretation. Strengthening the student's ability to participate in a discussion on a professional topic.

For students of the 3rd year of the Biochemistry study program.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student

The condition for obtaining credit is 100% participation in the seminar (possibility of replacing up to 2 absences due to serious reasons / substitute seminar work). Acquaintance with the instructions and requirements for the preparation of a bachelor's thesis within the seminar and based on information on the website of the Department of Biochemistry, PřF UP. Finding a professional article focused on a topic close to the subject of the bachelor's thesis and then processing the professional information published in the given article in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, which will also include a presentation of the goals of the assigned bachelor's thesis, and one's own oral presentation, including active participation in the discussion of the discussed topics.
