Course content
- Introduction to Nutrition Physiology; - Metabolism of carbohydrates; - Metabolism of proteins; - Metabolism of lipids; - Metabolism of minerals and microelements; - Metabolism of vitamins; - Metabolism of water; - Energethical transformation of organism; basal, resting and active metabolism; - Regulation of food intake.

Learning outcomes
The main objective of the course Physiology of nutrition and nutrition of children (1 and 2) is to obtain a sufficient understanding of the links between nutrition and the vital functions of man and to acquire basic knowledge of the physiology of the digestive tract, in relation to his anatomy. That means first of all to understand the processes of digestion and nutrient absorption. the basic metabolism of singular nutrients (proteins, sugars and fats), vitamins, minerals and water, including the role of the liver, pankreas and kidneys in the metabolism of these substances. The aim is to acquire the the principles of balanced nutrition in a healthy person, the essence of dietary measures in case of illness, including issues of nutritional additives, and also nd learn the basic parameters to evaluate the nutritional status, using anthropometric and clinical methods.
After completing the course, students will: - be familiar with the fundamentals of nutrition physiology, in relation to his anatomy, including the functions of liver, pancreas and kidney, t.i. organs that are significantly involved in the metabolism of the organism;- manage the basic principles and context of metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, minerals, microelements, vitamins and water; - understand the energetichal transformation of the organism; essence of basal, resting and active metabolism and the regulating of food intake.

Works with PC, internet connection.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Written exam

Active, 90% participation in whorkshops; the written work on a selected topic from nutrition physiology and nutrition of children (with citation of at least one foreign author - translation from a world language), in range of 5-10 pages in A4 format.
