Course content
Themes Fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms and international conventions. Criminal law - elements of the offenses related to substance abuse. Criminal law - other merits related to health protection. The Juvenile justice Act - differences in legislation from the Criminal Code. Education Act - selected provisions concerning the relationship between "family" and "school".

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic legislation, which represents a particular resolution of the The Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms as part of the constitutional order of the Czech Republic as well as international conventions on fundamental human rights. In this context, the focus will be mainly on the analysis of the right to life, to human dignity, the right to health. Furthermore, students will be introduced to selected legal regulations, which contain legal regulation of phenomena that are related to health, especially the developed addictive substance abuse (alcohol, nicotine, drugs). In this context, the detail given to selected provisions of the Criminal Law (emphasis on the analysis of crimes threatening the education of youth, the seduction to sexual intercourse, serving alcoholic beverages to juveniles, serving anabolic substances to juveniles, sexual abuse, incestuous, illegal production and possession of narcotics and psychotropic substances and poisons spread of drug addiction, event. the spread of contagious diseases) and the related Law on Juvenile Justice. Furthermore, students will be introduced to selected provisions of the Education Act, particularly the provisions on the rights and duties of pupils, students and legal guardians of children and minor pupils regarding the pupils' education to health.
After completing the course, students should be able to handle procedures for dealing with negative socio-pathological phenomena in the educational process

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

PC skills, ability to find actual legislation in the Collection of Laws of the Czech Republic and the Collection of International Treaties published in a manner allowing remote access. Knowledge of basic literature.
