Course content
1. Selecting a diploma thesis topic. Head of a Diploma thesis - his/her role. 2. Issues of defining objectives and hypotheses of the Diploma thesis or its research part. 3. Selecting methods for a Diploma thesis. 4. Issues of collecting and processing information for a Diploma thesis. 5. Compiling a synopsis of the thesis and schedule of the work. 6. Execution of a Diploma thesis, its elaboration. 7. Working with literature and other sources. Quoting literary and other sources in a Diploma thesis. 8. Working with research results. Statistical processing of research results in a Diploma thesis. 9. Formalities thesis. 10. Opposition of thesis. 11. Answers to the questions of students. Solving problems related to the processing of the thesis.

Learning outcomes
The seminar introduces future teachers to the issue of elaborating their final thesis, including work with literature, using research methods, using statistics, elaborating conclusions and interpretation of the results achieved. The most important form of work in the seminar is consultations on the contents and form of final thesis at general level. After several initial lessons, the student will, based on the stimuli provided by the lecturer, prepare possible topics of his/her final thesis. Such topics are subsequently consulted with the lecturer. Once the most suitable topics have been selected, the student contacts the potential heads of their final thesis at the respective departments. Based on the instructions of his/her lecturer, the student will prepare a general written plan for elaboration of his/her final thesis and a summary of the anticipated literature and other resources (e.g. from the internet) that will be needed for elaboration of his/her thesis. He/she will learn how to use a valid standard for bibliographic quotations. He/she will prepare questions pertaining to the content as well as to the form of the thesis. Subsequent to concluding this subject with a credit, the student attends individual consultations with the head of his/her thesis.
After completing the course, students should be able to: - Specify assumptions correct choice of thesis topic. - Clarify the rules for optimal processing of the thesis, both in content and formally. - Apply knowledge of work with literature and relevant standards. - Describe ways of working with citations in the text of the thesis. - Describe methods of data analysis . - Appropriate and properly interpret the results obtained during the processing of the research part.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

Active participation in the seminar (mandatory participation of 90%). PC work, Internet connection. Students elaborates a project on a selected topic, according to the focus of their Diploma thesis.
