Course content
Terminology (health, disease, health literacy, health determinants, lifestyle, active approach to health, health promotion); theories of health and illness; protective and risk lifestyle factors (notably nutrition and physical activity), non-infectious epidemics such as frequent causes of death and their prevention; educator and health of pupils (health and safety); health education in the curriculum of the educational system in the Czech Republic; Presentation of organizations, programs and projects to promote health and healthy lifestyles with an emphasis on pupils 2nd grade elementary school. Topics tasks: Nutrition recommendations for elementary school pupil; eating and drinking habits of 2nd st. elementary school; FEP analysis with regard to health promotion and health education; Teachers responsibility for protecting the health of pupils legislative action; Analysis of projects to promote health on a regional and national level; prevention of non-infectious epidemic in childhood; lifestyle and its positive and negative effects on children's health.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should be able to: - Define the basic theory and models of health and illness - To explain the determinants of health, including the areas of lifestyle - Describe the principle of prevention (particularly primary, respectively. General) - Justify the influence of lifestyle and access to health for the development of non-infectious epidemics (ie. Disease of civilization) - Argue for an active approach to health and responsibility for their health and other - Clarify the relationship of teacher responsibility to protect the health of students - Interpret the implementation of health promotion into curricula (especially FEP 2013) - Demonstrate elementary knowledge of projects and programs to promote health

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Seminar Work

Each student prepares a seminar paper on a given topic, which will be in the range of max. 5 A4 pages and delivered in the LMS Unifor least a week before granting the colloquium. Monitoring and evaluation of the individual work of a tutor is a prerequisite for the possibility of acceding to the colloquium.
