Course content
Introduction to a system of sciences concerning human; development of anthropology as a field of study, division of anthropology into the particular disciplines, a relation of anthropology to other fields of study; primatology and etiology as a field of study essential for understanding human, anthropogenesis, ontogenesis, ethnic anthropology. Anthropological research, basic methods of anthropometry and their practice (setting the fundamental somatic indicators, evaluation of body composition, evaluation of the state of the foot).

  • Preparation for the Exam - 10 hours per semester

  • Semestral Work - 2 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
After passing the course, students should be able to: - understand the terminology of anthropology, - characterize anthropogenesis in a complex way, - define the stages of the ontogenetic development (prenatal and postnatal development), - analyze the outer anthropological signs and the development of human races, - explain the basic methods of anthropometry, - explain the influence of the inner and external factors on human development with the rules of somatic growth and development bearing in mind, - Determine the somatic condition (self-measurement and processing the diagnostic record).
Student is able to: - define branches of anthropology - describe particular disciplines of anthropology - Analyze relations between the disciplines - Elaborate given topic in a didactic way
Prerequisites
Student needs to pass: - The subject of Biology on the grammar school level - Course "Child and Adolescent Biology"

Written exam, Analysis of Activities ( Technical works), Seminar Work
