Course content
The definition of quality of life and its relation to modern medicine and society. The main historical facts related to development of quality of life. Analysis of main ideas of quality of life. A dimension of quality of life. A Theoretical and a methodological problems in context of quality of life and other terms related into this area. Personality and socio-demographic factors in relation to quality of life and managing a discomfort and illness- a resilience, hardiness, coping, body image, sense of coherence self-efficacy, self-system, well-being, social support and socio-economic status. The principles of measurement and evaluation of quality of life. An instruments for evaluation of quality of life. The quality of life in context of health. The quality of life in clical prictise. The construction of HRLoL. The quality of life in patients with pain. A measurement of quality of life focused on chronic diseases. Specifics of quality of life of seniors in relation to polymorbidity. Value orientation and attitudes of individuals to the quality of their lives.

Learning outcomes
After attending of this subject, students should be able to: - Explain a quality of life in context of historical view - Analyze a theoretical problems from quality of life perspektive - Explain a basic dimensions of quality of life - Describe the socio-demographic characteristic in contex of quality of life - Manage a basic principles of didcomfort situations - Know a basic principles of meauerement and evaluation of quality of life - Actively use a created instruments for evaluation of quality of life
By completing the course, students will acquire adequate skills to assess essential aspects of quality of life in individual developmental stages of human development with an emphasis on the value of life.
Prerequisites
This subject will be realized for students of the study program Teaching vocational subjects for nursing schools.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student performance, Seminar Work

The conditions specified by the lecturer at the beginning of the term. Preparation of a seminar work on a given topic in the range of 5 normalized A4 pages including references to the used resources according to ISO 690. In addition, students will place a seminar work in the Portal UP portal.upol.cz in the section "My Study" "Semestral Work". Seminar work is automatically checked in the plagiarism detection system.
