Course content
1. Introduction, setting requirements. 2. Purpose of FA, system of FA (layman, medical, technical), legislation of FA. 3. Process of FA, examining the basic physiological functions (breathing, circulation, consciousness - quantitative and qualitative evaluation) 4. FA while respiratory arrest or failure (foreign body in respiratory tract, getting the wind knocked out of you, arrest) 5. FA while circulatory arrest, indirect cardiac massage (for adults, children, infant), cardiopulmonary resuscitation. 6. FA while bleeding (arterial - pressure points, pressure bandage, usage of a tourniquet; venous, capillary, combined; internal; bleeding from body openings). 7. FA while a head, spine, and spinal cord injury (concussion and contusion) 8. Bandage technique, usage of available bandage materials (plaster, roller and triangular, Etc.) 9. FA while bone and joint lesion (sprained ankle, ankle dislocation, fractures - closed, opened, comminuted). 10. FA while damaging by heat (heat illness, heat stroke, burns, frostbites, body chills, etc.) 11. FA during electrical injury. 12. FA while drowning. Acute conditions - epileptic seizure and cramps, asthmatic seizure, hypo and hyperglycemic seizure. 13. Acute conditions - Myocardial infarction, stroke, acute abdomen

Learning outcomes
The objective of the course First Aid is to provide students with the set of theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed while giving first aid. They are introduced to the most frequent causes, consequences, and symptoms of damaged human health. They discover the whole set of applied first aid and complete and actual information concerning giving layman first aid. During the course, they discover the principles of providing first aid during acute conditions directly endangering human life: bleeding, bone, and joint lesions, respiratory and circulatory arrest, shock and unconsciousness etc.
