Learning outcomes
Throughout the course the students learn about health physical education designed for health impaired individuals. The course develops both theoretical and practical skills of students in the area of disorders and defects of the musculoskeletal system, including examination of muscle functions, posture and walking. Attention is given to back pain, adjustments to physical activity stereotypes, basic ergonomic principles and compensation for excessive static load - sitting. The students learn about the types of impairment of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems and neuropsychic impairment. The students will use the acquired theoretical and practical skills in the field of their expertise. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student has theoretical knowledge in the area of health physical education and is able to: 1. Individually examine the muscular system; 2. Diagnose muscle shortening, weakening and hypermobility; 3. Assess basic physical activity stereotypes; 4. Assess the posture of an individual with respect to certain disorders of the musculoskeletal system; 5. Apply suitable compensatory exercise that is a part of correct physical activity routine; 6.
