Learning outcomes
The course aims to get students acquainted with problems of health physical education focused on individuals with health problems. It is focused especially on examination of muscles and methodics of evaluation of body posture. Basic theoretical knowledge in disabilities of postural and moving function and compensatory and regeneration exercises to correct muscle imbalances and muscle balance. Sets of exercises are directly targeted to particular muscles and muscle groups. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student has theoretical knowledge in the area of health physical education and is able to: 1. Characterise health physical education; 2. Describe and categorize types of impairment; 3. Specify various compensatory aids; 4. Examine muscle shortening and weakening of selected muscle groups; 5. Assess the posture of an individual with respect to certain disorders of the musculoskeletal system; 6. Specify various approaches to stretching; 7. Clarify fitness increasing techniques; 8. Apply the principles of appropriate stretching and workout in the form of specific exercise positions.
