Course content
1. Introductory acquaintance with the organization of the subject. Basic terminology (gerontology, gerontopedagogy, gerontopsychology, etc.). 2. Getting acquainted with the specifics of the age period from the perspective of anatomy, physiology, psychology and sociology. Biology of aging. 3. Current legislation in the field of care for the elderly and its importance for the organizers of PA seniors. The system of care for the elderly in the Czech Republic and in selected European countries. Therapeutic approaches and their development. 4. Active aging. Healthy lifestyle and its effects on slowing down the course of degenerative diseases. 5. Introduction to the basic rules of PA seniors with regard to their specifics - indications and contraindications of PA seniors. 6. Physical activities in the most common diseases and diseases of old age (osteoporosis, ischemic heart disease, dementia, weight problems, etc.) 7. Physical activities of seniors (PA): thematic exercises 1., 2., 3. 8. Feldenkrais method of work with older population 9. Techniques of Veronika Sherborn for people with dementia in late age. 10. Therapy in the aquatic environment. 11. Comparative rehabilitation, spa care. 12. Therapeutic techniques. 13. Implementation of student projects.

Learning outcomes
The course provides basic information on the general foundations and starting points for working with a population of older persons in physical activities; familiar with organizations and facilities committed to seniors free time, expanded mobility activities. Furthermore, here the student will get an overview on the most common diseases of older age and their relation to the specifics of physical activity.
The student has sufficient information and skills for creating and managing physical activities for seniors with regard to their health. During the study received the tray physical activities for seniors, which can work with and modify it due to the needs of specific groups with a certain movement restrictions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam, Seminar Work

1. Active participation, e-learning (eg. of replacement of missed curriculum by individual task) 2. Submission of project work - preparation on the assigned topic, selected practical presentations for a movement lesson for seniors in teaching (2 topics). 3. Practical output on a given topic (guided lesson).
