Course content
1. Basic terminology (gerontology, gerontopedagogy, gerontopsychology, etc.) with cross-curricular links with kinanthropology, andragogy. 2. Current legislation in senior care and its significance for the organizers of senior PA. 3. Fundamentals of communication and work with seniors with respect to age- and health-related specifics. 4. Active aging, physical activity regime and senior nutrition principles. 5. Principles of creating and managing senior physical activity with respect to their interests and medical condition. 6. Senior physical activity, thematic exercise (target sports). 7. Senior physical activity (PA): thematic exercise (indoor PA /room, gym/). 8. Senior physical activity (PA): thematic exercise (outdoor PA). 9. Senior physical activity: thematic exercise (aqua PA /aqua gymnastics, aqua aerobic etc./) 10. Excursion: senior house, organized PA. 11. Project assignment. 12. Project assignment. 13. Organization and participation in the ?Active at any age? seminar. Note: The course is delivered according to the following structure: 1 lesson in a lecture room, 1 lesson in a gym. The lecture room lesson covers theoretical topics and videos. In the second half of the semester the students start with practical presentation of own projects. Topics of seminar papers and related projects: Psychomotor skills and seniors; Target sports and seniors; Yoga, Tai-chi, Five Tibetan Rites and other Eastern arts; Exercise on chairs; Music exercise; Dance; Supine exercise; Strength-building exercise, Stretching exercise, Flexibility development

Learning outcomes
This course provides the student with basic information about the general basics and foundations needed for work with the senior citizen population in the area of movement activity, acquaints him or her with organizations and facilities dedicated to free time activities for senior citizens as well as with the most common movement activities for this group of the population.
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to: 1. Apply the knowledge about the possibilities of senior physical activity in practice; 2. Analyse current trends in senior APA; 3. Process a given topic in the form of a seminar paper using various sources of information; 4. Prepare and deliver a physical activity teaching unit based on an assessment of individual needs and possibilities of seniors.

No special prerequisities are required.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Didactic Test, Seminar Work

1. Active participation in lessons; 80% attendance (individual assignments in case of missed classes) 2. Submission of a project assignment on a given topic. 3. Practical presentation of a prepared lesson of senior physical activity within the KAT/APASE course. 4. Participation in the "Active at any age" seminar or excursion to a senior house (physical activity).
