Course content
Each class consists of approximately 30 % of theory and 70 % of practice. So given there is about 26 lectures per semester (one 45 minutes). It gives us 19,5 hours per semester. From which 13,65 hours are practical and 5,58 hours are theoretical. Topics for lectures: 1. Introduction to disability sports 2. History and philosophy of Paralympic sports 3. History and philosophy of Special Olympics 4. History and philosophy of Deaflympics 5. Sport for persons with hearing impairments 6. Sport for persons with visual impairments - introduction 7. Sport for persons with visual impairments - perceptual and motor development 8. Sport for persons with physical disabilities - classification and adapted equipment 9. Sport for persons with physical disabilities - team sports 10. Sport for persons with intellectual disabilities - Special Olympics 11. Sport for persons with intellectual disabilities - Paralympics 12. Long term athlete development (Canadian models) 13. Inclusion in disability sports (Australian model) Topics for seminars: 1. Principles of adaptations in Special Olympics - introduction 2. Principles of adaptations in Special Olympics - Unified sports 3. Sports for athletes with visual impairments - introduction 4. Learning outcomes
Aim of the course is to provide insight and understanding of different sports for persons with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities.

Prerequisites
Successful previous or parallel attendance in the course Inclusion in Physical Activity (KAT/@INPA).

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

1. Active participation in 80% of lectures and seminars 2. PPT presentation of selected topics 3. 1 page review of selected articles 4. Portfolio with all assignments and worksheets 5. Microteaching in selected activity 6. Final exam
