Course content
1. Current issues in sports training. 2. Sports performance and sports efficiency. 3. Sports performance components. 4. Fitness, technical, psychological and tactical preparation. 5. Biological and energy principles of sports performance. 6. Adaptation to training load - regeneration, over-training. 7. Methods and forms of fitness training. 8. Training periodization. 9. Sports training of children. 10. Sports training of health disabled.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
  • Attendace - 26 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 8 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide the students with the required knowledge about the methods and forms of fitness training and to transform them into the area of didactics. The main objective of the Basics of sports training course is to introduce the possibilities of general as well as special development, increase the athletes' load capacity, improve and stabilize sports technique and tactics together with regeneration and injury prevention. The knowledge gained throughout the course will be applied in practice to develop competences in the area of coaching. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the students are knowledgeable about the issue of sports performance and sports efficiency, training process and its specifics, also focusing on sports preparation of children and heath disabled. In practical applications the students are able to work with training load respecting the current training condition, developmental and other specifics.
Prerequisites
Knowledge covered by the following courses: Functional anatomy, General physiology and other courses of the study programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Seminar Work

- Active participation 100%, - Defence and presentation of a seminar paper, - Completion of a written credit test, - Successful completion of an exam.
