Course content
1) Personality of the manager, basic modalities of the manager's authority. 2) Setting of objectives (SMART) and effective planning through objectives. 3) Organizational structures, cascading of objectives. 4) Leaderships methods (mentoring, coaching, delegating), GRID, situation leadership. 5) Effective management communication (communication pyramid). 6) Effective presentation (development of presentation skills). 7) Providing feedback, evaluation interviews. 8) Staff motivation. 9) Hiring and dismissing staff. 10 Meetings and brainstorming. 11) Team management, team roles. 12) Staff evaluation, development of motivation bonus systems. 13) Time management and stress coping.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this seminar is to teach and deepen basic management competences (planning, organization, leadership, control), development of personal skills (effective management communication, presentation). Further topics include leadership methods (mentoring, coaching, delegating), developmental personal activities (providing feedback, evaluation interviews, hiring and dismissing staff), staff motivation. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student acquires an insight into basic management leadership skills applicable in all tiers of management or for personal development.

Student performance, Seminar Work

Active participation in seminars. Preparation and delivery of a personal presentation on a selected topic.
