Course content
|
Technique and methodology of windsurfing: - Balancing exercise on a board - Mast technique, - Sail manipulation, - Basic position, starting and ride, - Basic turns, upwind turns, downwind turns, - Direct ride, slalom ride, - Steering in windsurfing, various courses, - Riding technique side and back wind, - Wind crossing against wind, - Controlled ride using buoys, - Ride with a harness, - Beach start, - Windsurfing slide, - Power-halse. Theoretical knowledge: - Safety rules, - Flag signalling, - Equipment (boards, booms, masts, sails, joints), - Preparation of a windsurfing set (trimming, adjustment of harness ties), - Basics of hydrodynamics and aerodynamics. Additional activities: - Cycling, - In-line skating, - Volleyball, - Regeneration, stretching, - Tennis, - Mini-golf.

Learning outcomes
|
The Windsurfing B2 course further improves basic windsurfing skills. This windsurfing course is a follow-up and extension programme designed for pre-intermediate surfers. The aim of the course is to teach the students to use the equipment for pre-intermediate students allowing sliding ride, ride with a harness and in stronger wind. The programme is aimed at the methodology of teaching windsurfing and observing all safety principles and rules.
Upon completion of the B2 windsurfing course the student is able to: - Apply purposeful and safe windsurfing behaviour on an open water surface, - Use suitable equipment for windsurfing according to wind conditions, - Use acquired physical skills and adapt to external conditions, - Assess various situations and manipulate with the windsurfing equipment in a correct way.

Prerequisites
|
The course is designed for follow-up Master students of the following courses: PE Teaching, Physical Education and Sport, Applied Physical Education, Population Protection full-time study.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Didactic Test, Systematic Observation of Student
Credit windsurfing regatta (controlled around a buoy). Written theory test. Active participation in the whole course.
