Course content
The main chapters of lexicology deal with topics such as word meaning, word formation, lexical relations, etymological survey, register, etc. Theoretical principles can be practised via practical exercises in the LMS Unifor. Students are also familiarized with all possible types of dictionaries (printed and on CD-ROM as well as on-line) and the British National Corpus website.

Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Demonstration, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
Understanding the main issues of Lexicology, such as word meaning, word formation, lexical relations, etymological survey, register, etc. Familiarization with all possible types of dictionaries (printed and on CD-ROM as well as on-line) and the British National Corpus. Students are supposed to study the topics from the study material in the LMS Unifor.
Ability to study in English.

Understanding a lecture and communicating in English.
