Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to introduce students to research in the senior population and to subjective and objective methods in research of active aging.
The students should be able to use and understand the quality of life (SQUALA, SEIQol, SF 12), satisfaction with life (SwL), physical activity (IPAQ long), perceived built environment (NEWS-A), and other questionnaires. In the context of a physically active lifestyle, the students should be oriented in assessments of physical activity, sedentary behavior, and sleep (pedometers, accelerometers, and other motion sensors). Based on knowledge of world health movement behavior guidelines, research studies, and the ability to interpret the results of movement behavior assessments, the students should be able to recommend the optimal physical activity. Students should be able to diagnose and explain the parameters of body composition. Further, the students should know and be able to use fitness tests (Senior fitness tests), diagnose the coordination and assess the risk of falls.
