Course content
Content: Qualitative Methods Quantitative Methods How to do Interviews What is a Journal. How to get published in a journal. What is a scientific publication? How to become a scientist. Teaching Methods: Lecture Individual Meeting Groups Projects Experiential Education

Learning outcomes
An introduction to the essentials of research methods in both qualitative and quantitative measures. The course focuses on using of these methods in the field of physical activity.
It is expected that after passing the course students will know: 1) How to work out a research project. 2) What is the difference between quantitative and qualitative research. 3) How to make a presentation of research. 4) How to write an academic paper.
Prerequisites
Interest of students in research and academic writing.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

To attend class and to participate in discussion. To carry out weekly assignments and report on them during the class. Assignments: Three main assignments: 1 - You will write one research paper based on academic papers or journals. 2 - You will make one academic presentation. 3 - You will make an academic research project based on limited sample. Each week you will have some reading assignments based on helping you to carry out and learn more about the requirements of this class. Each week you will have some project concerning the fulfillment of your research goal. Grades: You must write papers, make presentations, carry out research, attend 75% of classes. Or: A - You have attended all classes and made appropriate presentations. B - You have missed 2 classes, and made all but one presentation. C - You have missed 4 classes, and made all but two presentations. F - Less than C.
