Course content
Content of the subject is the hematology and nephrology. Attention is given to the important diseases as anaemias, lymphoma, acute and chronic leukemias, pancytopenia, thrombophilic and heamophilic disorders, in nephrology glomerulonephritis, interstitial nephritis, diabetic nephropathy, acute and chronic renal failure. The students are taught the modern principles of the therapy including transplantation, dialysis, in practical training the examination methods of patients with hematological and renal diseases are trained as well as the practical skills in examination of general internal patients or patients with rheumatic or metabolic diseases.

Learning outcomes
Theoretical fundaments of hematology, nephrology a selected metabolic diseases. Widening of practical skills in clinical examination, elaboration of the reports, and construction of the diagnostic process. Interpretation of laboratory tests and diagnostic methods with the formulation of working and final diagnosis, effective disease management.
Student will be able to use the knowledge in formulation of the diagnosis and in effective diseases management.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of pathology, physiology, pathophysiology, farmacology according requirements of medical faculty knowledge of internal medicine from years 3th - 4th.

Assessment methods and criteria

Practical training takes place in individual departments III. internal clinics-NRE, Hematooncology clinics and FTO according to the prepared schedule. FTO classes take place in demonstration room III. internal medicine clinic. Coat, shoe, stethoscope required for teaching. Do not leave any valuables in the locker room. The content of the practical exercise is the elaboration of a complete medical record, including anamnesis, design of a diagnostic and treatment plan. Part of the practice is a written description of the ECG curve or X-ray image. The practical exercise is divided into an individual part devoted to the processing of the above documents and a part devoted to the analysis of patients with the teacher. Participation in the practical exercise will be recognized only on the basis of meeting the above prerequisites and an active approach in the analysis of the patient. As part of the practical exercise, it is appropriate to use professional literature - but not to make an extract from the official medical record! Preparation for internships in departments III. internal clinic-NRE, at the Department of Hematooncology and FTO follows from the focus of seminars (see separate overview). Of the mandatory 10 practical exercises, the excused absence of 1 exercise is tolerated, and of the mandatory 17 seminars, the absence of 1 seminar is tolerated, due to serious personal reasons or due to illness. Longer absences must be replaced on the basis of a prior agreement with the head of teaching, in another block or at the end of the semester in the form of a seminar paper or by replacing internships in the relevant department.
