Course content
Topics: 1. First aid, accidents and emergencies 2. Symptoms and diseases 3. Monitoring the patient, vital signs, observations 4. Patient care - wound care, respiratory care, diabetes management The seminar consists of 30 hours of direct teaching and 10 hours of self-study and preparation. Total number of hours is 40.

Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Learning outcomes
Students develop their general English competency. They expand their knowledge of basic healthcare terminology, with focus on Pediatric Nursing. They acquire a level of healthcare English necessary for their profession, with focus on communication with patietns.

Prerequisites
Competence in English at least at the CEFR reference level A2/B1 - pre-intermediate.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Attendance at least 80%, active participation in classes and completing assigned tasks. Final credit test.
