Course content
Histology and Embryology for medical students in English language program is taught in two semesters. In the first semester, students are given information about structure and function of cells and tissues in human body. In the second semester, students study microscopic structure (microscopic anatomy) of all organs in the human body. In the embryology part of the subject, a detailed information about human development during embryonic and fetal periods is given. This is continued with developmental morphology of organ systems.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Observation, Projection (static, dynamic), Laboratory Work, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
The first part of histology and embryology is focused on gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge of the microscopic structure of tissues, cardiovascular, and lymphoreticular systems, and basic embryology.
This proficiency will be applied in further study of the microscopic anatomy and embryology of organ systems.
Prerequisites
Students ought to have fundamental biology and chemistry attainments at the secondary education level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Written exam, Didactic Test, Systematic Observation of Student

Take part in all the practicals. Pass all the tests succesfully.
