Course content
|
The course includes progressive practice of selected yoga postures and their modifications, with focus on functional movement patterns, postural stability and joint mobility. Practical training covers breathing control and its use in movement facilitation and relaxation, as well as more advanced relaxation techniques. Further topics include development of therapeutic yoga sequences, safe progressions and regressions, principles of load management, and application of yoga-based interventions in common musculoskeletal conditions, including spine and shoulder dysfunctions, hip mobility limitations and balance impairments. The course also addresses the use of yoga in stress management and recovery strategies relevant to physiotherapy practice.

Learning outcomes
|
The course builds on the knowledge and skills gained in Yoga Basics for Physiotherapy 1 and further develops the practical application of yoga-based methods within physiotherapy. Students deepen their understanding of movement control, posture, breathing and relaxation techniques, with emphasis on progression, individual modification and safe adaptation for different functional conditions. The course focuses on integrating yoga principles into therapeutic exercise programmes aimed at improving mobility, stability, balance, strength endurance and overall functional performance. Students will also develop skills in designing simple yoga-based sequences suitable for preventive and rehabilitation interventions.

Assessment methods and criteria

Successful completion of the course requires active attendance and practical participation in all sessions, demonstration of safe performance of selected yoga techniques, and completion of assigned practical tasks. Students are expected to demonstrate the ability to modify exercises based on individual needs, contraindications and functional goals.
