Basic toxicology. Molecular mechanisms of toxicity, Effect of pollutants at the cellular and organism level. Biotransformation. Carcinogenicity, mutagenicity and teratogencity. Toxicity testing. Inorganic pollutants, organic pollutants. Environmental toxicology. Pollutants in ecosystems. Biomarkers, biomonitoring. Bhopal, Seveso, Černobyl.

The aim is to introduce students to the basic principles of toxicology and ecotoxicology.
