Course content
1. Term iconography, methodical proceedings in iconographical research 2. Text sources in Christian iconography, The Old and New Testament, Biblical apocrypha, Legenda Aurea, Speculum humanae salvationis etc. 3. Development of Christian iconography before the Edict of Milan. 4. Development of Christian iconography after the Edict of Milan in the region of Latin western Christian World and in the eastern Christian World. 5. Main aspects of iconography in the Byzantine culture.

The aim of seminary is deepening of knowledge of practical method of iconographical research on chosen exmpales from the realm of medieval Christian art in Czech countries.
Basic knowledge of Christian iconography ? in the region of Latin western and estern Christian world.
Prerequisites
Subject is designated for students of Bachelor study of History of Fine Arts.
