Course content
1. Caravaggio in his youth in Milan, his artistic education. 2. Caravaggio in Rome: initial formation. 3. Caravaggio in Rome: works for Cardinal Francesco del Monte. 4. Caravaggio in Rome: Paintings for other patrons prior 1599th 5. Caravaggio in Rome: Contarelli paintings in the chapel in the church of San Luigi dei Francesi. 6. Caravaggio in Rome: paintings in the Cerasi chapel in the church of S. Maria del Popolo. 7. Caravaggio in Rome: pictures for the churches of S. Maria della Scala and the Chiesa Nuova. 8. Caravaggio in Rome: Other works of until 1606th 9. Caravaggio in Naples: works from the first stay. 10. Caravaggio in Malta: paintings for the Maltese Knights. 11. Caravaggio in Sicily: the paintings for Messina, Syracuse and Palermo. 12. Caravaggio in Naples: works from the second stay.
