Course content
The subject will theoretically deal with contemporary Czech and foreign forms of presentation of architecture and related topics, such as contemporary curatorial, collection, journalistic and scholarly approaches. Practically he will devote himself to the text preparation of the so-called architectural manual. Multifunctional internet database, built specifically for Brno (www.bambrno.cz) and Plzeň (www.pam.plzně.cz) prepared for other Czech and Moravian cities. The project is based on the idea of presenting the architectural heritage of the city in situ. The database consists of freely accessible popular educational texts - besides the profiles of individual houses and medallions of architects and selected builders and builders interpreting urban and architectural development of relevant parts of cities; as well as interactive present and historical maps, archive materials as well as contemporary and contemporary photographs and other important information about the buildings.

Learning outcomes
To present students with contemporary Czech and foreign forms of presentation of architecture and related themes, ie curatorial, collecting, journalistic approaches, acquired knowledge, students should learn how to use in practice the creation of so called architectural manual.
The aim of the seminar is to introduce students to problems, questions and present methods of architectural heritage presentation and contemporary architecture. A model example is the preparation of a popular educational project of an architectural manual. The obtained competences should be prepared for future practice in the preparation of different types of projects for gallery, monument or non-profit institutions. The student gets knowledge about the preparation of grant projects, their management, production and promotion. And he will teach his theoretical knowledge for the writing of scholarly texts acquired through the study of art history to transform into the popular science sphere of practice.
Prerequisites
The lecture is intended for graduates of the bachelor's study of the History of Fine Arts and Art Studies.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Seminar Work

The active participation of the student in the classroom during the discussion of the given topic, the participation in excursions connected with the teaching and the elaboration of the seminar work on the basis of archival research, primary and secondary literature and the gathering of knowledge gained during the study of architectural monuments in situ. The work takes the form of two popular textbooks published publicly on the pages of the Brno and Pilsen architectural manuals and devoted to particular buildings or architects of the given period and location.
