Course content
1. European painting of the 15th to the 18th century: Mediterranean and the transalpine painting, the introduction 2. Florence from Cosimo I to Francesco I: the mannerists, Alessandro Allori 3. Venice 1550 to 1618: late Tizian, Veronese, Bassanos, Tintoretto and followers 4. Brussels a Antwerp 1550 to 1620: P. Bruegel I, J. Brueghel I, Rubens and landscape painters 5. Prague and Vienna 1576-1618. The patronage and collections of Rudolf II, Arcimboldo 6. Spranger, Aachen, Heintz, Savery 7. Bologna 1575 to 1609: bishop Gabriele Paleotti and the Carracci reform 8. Rome 1592 to 1606: Caravaggio 9. Rome 1600 to 1609: A. Carracci 10.Rome 1600 to 1630: Albani, Domenichino, Lanfranco, Guercino, Rubens 11.Caravaggists in Rome: Manfredi, O. Gentileschi, Honthorst, Saraceni 12.Guido Reni in Bologna and in Rome

Learning outcomes
Lectures and seminars devoted to the types and changes of painting in its main European centers including Bohemia and Moravia since 1550 to about 1630, mainly in Rome, Bologna, Florence, Paris, Venice, Brussels, Antwerp, Prague and Olomouc. The difference of local schools, the importance of the city centers of painting and their relationships are followed in the exchange of impulses, in impact of the leading art personalities, in the relations to literature, theatre and music of the time and in the structure of the home patronage, collectionism and commissions together with traces of the activity of foreign artists in Bohemia and Moravia.
The knowledge of the types and changes of painting in its main European centers including Bohemia and Moravia since 1550 to about 1630, mainly in Rome, Bologna, Florence, Paris, Venice, Brussels, Antwerps, Prague and Olomouc.
Prerequisites
The finished first semester of the bachelor degree.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

The knowledge of the explained problematics, enriched by the study of the recommended literature. The student's presence in seminars.
