1. Arabs, Koran and expansion to Europe. 2. Arabian transfer of antique philosophy and science 3. Muslims in Spain - 711-1492 4. Umaj art on the Iberian peninsula 5. Mosarab art 6. Taif art - Almohads and Almoravids 7. Nasirs 8. Mudéjars and Mauriscs; Mudéjar architecture in Spain 9. Arabian influences in Spain and in America during the Renaissance and the Baroque 10.Arabs in Portugal (8th-13th century) 11.Jews and the Arabian art 12.Arabs in Italy (Sicily) 13.Romanticists and Arabs; orientalism in the 19th century. Synagogues 14.Arabian arts and crafts and its influence in Europe

Learning outcomes
Outline of development of Arabian (Muslim) Art in Europe from 8th to 16th century with special regard to history of Iberian Peninsula and Mediterranean. Specification of influences of Arabian visual culture on Christian art in Southern and Western Europe. Orientalism in 19th century.
Graduate of the course obtains the knowledge of basic terms and history of infiltration of Muslim ifnluences to Eurpean art, especially in the region of Mediterranean, but also (in the historicist concept) to Bohemia.
Prerequisites
The course is proposed for students of Bachelor degree of History of Art.
