Course content
1. Czech amateur photography after 1948. 2. Socialist realism, teory of socialist realism and the most important authors. 3. The end of 50's and poetry of everyday life. 4. Prag authors and the VOX group in Brno. 5. DOFO group. 6. Style of Poetry of everyday life used in books and film. 7. From poetry of everyday life to documentary photography 8. Documentary photography of 60's. 9. Staged photography.

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on very specific period of art in Czech Republic from 1948 (Komunist party took power) to 1968 (Czech Republic was occupyed by the army of Wasaw Pact). This period was wery turbulent for Czech art, let alone for photography, which was the most imporatant "propaganda" medium in 50's, but "art" medium in 60's. The course is based on polarity of polarity of theese two periods represented by socialist realism and poetry of everyday life.
Knowledge od history of photography of 50's and 60's and knowledge of the medium as a part of propaganda, press etc.
Prerequisites
Basic knovledge of Czech history and history of 20th century.

Student performance

Students have to pass colloquium.
