Course content
1. Crafts and architecture of Great Moravia 2. Architecture and art during the reign of the Přemyslid princes 3. Architecture and art during the reign of the last Premyslid kings 4. The transformation of Christian iconography at the turn of 13th and 14th century 5. Architecture and art during the reign of John of Luxembourg 6. Architecture and art during the reign of Charles IV. of Luxembourg in Bohemia and Moravia 7. Architecture and art during the reign of Charles IV. of Luxembourg in neighbouring countries of the Bohemian Crown

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to introduce to students the main periods of the Czech art in the time early and high Middle Ages. The emphasis in the lectures is put on the culture and art in the time of Great Moravia, government of Přemyslid princes and kings and principally on the era of Luxembourg reign, when Prag and the Czech lands became very important artistic centre.
Students of the subject obtain the basic knowledge of development of art and architecture in Bohemia and Moravia between 900-1400.
Prerequisites
Subject is designated for students of Bachelor and Master study of History of Fine Arts.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Very good knowledge of the topics, that are discussed in the lectures, good knowledge of the recommended literature.
