1) Primary qualitative research A) definition of qualitative research and explanation of paradigmatic differences between qualitative and quantitative research; B) identifying the problem, setting the research goal and formulating the research questions; C) creation of a general conceptual framework for a qualitative research; D) selecting methodological approaches and explaining the differences between approaches, data collection methods and data analysis methods; E) the process of collecting data in qualitative research; F) the process of analysing qualitative data; G) defining the general principles of analysis and interpretation of qualitative data; H) selection of qualitative research validity methods; I) the process of writing a qualitative research project. 2) Secondary qualitative research A) the importance of qualitative systematic reviews for health sciences (midwifery) B) a hierarchy of qualitative scientific evidence C) formulation of the review / research question D) the PICo tool E) Critical evaluation of primary qualitative studies F) introduction to the drafting of a qualitative systematic review report"

Learning outcomes |
The course introduces the research process in midwifery and nursing, its characteristics and types. Describing the phases and steps of the research project proceeds from the conceptual phase through the planning and planning stages to the empirical and analytical phase of the dissemination phase. Identifies ethical dimensions and discusses the ethical issues of research in midwifery and nursing. It presents an overview of methods of collecting empirical data and statistical methods of descriptive and inductive statistics, including data preparation for statistical analysis and statistical evaluation.
Students will receive basic information on qualitative primary and secondary research and its methodology. They will be able to implement this knowledge in practice. |
