Course content
1 week of training at Department of Surgery I (contains practise at Traumatology Dept., IPCHO and Plastic surgery Dept. ), 1 week of training at Department of Surgery II ? Vascular and Transplantation Surgery (contains practise at Cardiosurgical Department) and 2 weeks training at contractual Surgical Deptmant. During the practical training students take part in ward rounds, cooperate with surgens at ambulance and assist surgical procedures under teacher´s supervision. At the end of the Surgical block students attend 1 week of consultations with teachers on specific surgical topics.

Learning outcomes
Improvement of theoretical and practical basics of general, abdominal, thoracic, vascular, plastic and cardiosurgery. Teaching prepares students for passing of the state rigorous exam.
A graduate should be able to perform basic general surgical procedures independently. Aquired theoretical knowledge is adequate to treat pacients with surgical problems after graduate in Medicine. Aquired surgical knowledge is a basis for subsequent specialization in surgical disciplines.
Prerequisites
Good theoretical and practical knowledges of fundamental surgery, especially of atute abdominal diseases, and of orthopaedics and neurosurgery.

Condition of the credit is active collaboration in the course of practice and completed list of surgical procedures.
