Course content
|
Practical field excursion focusing on presentation of common plant species of the Czech Flora. The main attention is paid to demonstration of key structures of plant anatomy, i.e. description of stem, roots, leaf, flower and seed/fruit anatomy. The excursion takes place in surroundings of Olomouc (forests in Litovelské Pomoraví, wetlands in Plané Loučky and abandoned mining areas in Grygov) as well as in greenhouses and Gardens of Olomouc. Practicing the knowledge of plant anatomy on species determination using determination keys.

Improving plant identification skills, work with a botanical key.
Student should be able to (after attending the course): -describe the key structures of plant anatomy, i.e. description of stem, leaf, flower and seed/fruit anatomy; -apply knowledge of plant morphology in thein determination; -work correctly with Plant identification keys.

Prerequisites
|
Basic knowledge of the morphology of plants and botanical work with key.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written exam, Student performance
Protocols are required in the exam. Test - on basic knowledge of Plant Anatomy; basic work with determination keys.
