Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture
  • Attendace - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 34 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim is to gain a basic overview of toxicology, the basics of toxicokinetics, toxicodynamics and biotransformation and knowledge about the harmful effects of inorganic and organic compounds, the most common industrial products and intermediates, drug substances, narcotic and psychotropic substances, pesticides, chemical warfare agents and natural toxins.
Define main concepts in toxicology and hygiene, describe main toxicological properties of substances
Prerequisites
The knowledge of basics of general, organic, anorganic, analytical chemistry and biochemistry is recommended.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam, Written exam

oral examination- basic facts and discussion about selected themes (e.g. dangerous of chemical compounds, interaction of a chemical compound with organism, qualitative and quantitative expression of toxicity, examples of selected poisons influence.
