Course content
Chemical nomenclature of inorganic, coordination and organic substances. Structure of scientific articles, basic principles of academic English. Techniques of reading of academic texts. Reading of English scientific texts, understanding and interpretation of content. Watching educational and scientific videos in English. Acquiring the terminology of chemical fields.

Learning outcomes
Promotion of language skills related to comprehension of scientific literature in English (academic texts, scientific articles etc.) as well as speech (video, conference presentations).
Vocabulary expansion. Ability to effectively extract the desired information from large scientific articles based on an understanding of the structure of an academic text. Acquaintance with the most frequently used formulations, established phrases and idioms occurring in English scientific texts.

Successfully completed CHA1 course.

Attendance in seminars, fulfilment of interim tests (50%), colloquium. .
