1st Science and pseudoscience. Transformation of the status of science in the 20th century. Criticism of science and the merits of this criticism. Interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarita. 2nd The nature of mathematical uni (multi) version. World (s) and mathematics (them) sprawl. Greatest mathematical problems and their solutions. 3rd Axioms of mathematics. Since the formalism of mathematics without the axiom. Hilbert Challenge, Gödel (Turing) reduction and possible ways "beyond". 4th Computability and unpredictability, the birth of computing standing. Turing machine and algorithm. Parallel computer and nealgoritmizovatelné problems. 5th Quantum mechanics, its changes and the current form. Form of physical reality of the Schrödinger and Heisenberg. Paradoxes of quantum physics and their explanations. 6th Theory of relativity and physical cosmology. Neeukleidovské geometry and form (s) of the universe. The nature of time in the theory of relativity. 7th Dreaming of a final theory. Superstrings and M-theory, the nature of the relationship of physics and mathematics. Hypothetical form of physics after the discovery of the TOE. 8th Nonlinear thermodynamics and chaos theory. The nature of time in thermodynamics. Science of chaos or chaos in science? 9th What is life? Molecular Biology and selfish gene hypothesis. Benefits and weaknesses of biological reductionism. Dogma of molecular biology and their contestation. 10th Alternatives to the selfish gene hypothesis. Biophysics, self-organization and biological structuralism. The limits of mathematical modeling of life. 11th Neurobiology: structure and function of the brain. Methods of examination of the brain. The controversy over the localization of brain functions. 12th Cognitive Science, example transdisciplíny. Key questions: consciousness and self-confidence, memory, intelligence and others. 13th Can machines think? "Artificial" versus "natural" intelligence. Options konekcionismu and other approaches.

The aim of seminars and lectures to students of journalism is to convey the essential insight into the problems of natural sciences, which in turn enables more informed approach to the production of information science content. The course will focus on the development of science in the 20th century, however, including the historical context of key discoveries. Specifically, the changes will be presented mathematics, computing, physics, chemistry, the range of disciplines between biology and cognitive science and others.
