Aesthetical perception of world in literature. Aesthetical interpretation of literature. The topic of a literary work. The content and the form. The language. The plot, the story and the composition. The narrator. Forms of depicting a protagonist in literary work. Literary modes. Literary genres. Versology.

Learning outcomes
|
The course provides students with a basic explanation and orientation in the themes, concepts and terms of literary theory, including in a comparative framework. Participants will acquire the basics of the analysis of a literary work, which they will practically master in the seminar part using specific genres. Knowledge of the assigned texts is a prerequisite. The lectures focus mainly on the following topics: aesthetic acquisition of the world through literature aesthetic interpretation of literary texts the theme of a literary work the relationship between content and form the language of literature plot, storyline and composition the narrator and his role forms of human representation in a literary work literary types and genres basics of versology
Getting familiar with literary terms, schools, approaches and the development of literary theory as a science and its separate disciplines. Students will acquire the knowledge necessary for further literary studies.

Prerequisites
|
Designed for the 1st year students of Polish philology. Students should have a basic knowledge of Czech literary terminology as expected after graduating from high school. Also a knowledge of Polish language as specified in the entrance examination.
