Learning outcomes
The course is meant for students of Teaching History at upper primary and secondary schools. It interconnects historiography and the science of sources with the didactics of history and the teaching preparation for primary and secondary schools. The aim is to acquaint students with crucial trends of current domestic and world historiography in relation to primary research topics with the emphasis on their usage in modern trends of history teaching. The seminar prepares future history teachers to teach in accordance with the revised Framework Educational Program, which develops students' historical thinking and research skills. Participants will learn to work with sources and guide students to formulate questions, think critically, and develop historical empathy instead of merely memorizing facts. The aim is to acquire teaching methods that will enable them to demonstrate the meaning and usefulness of history for the present and the future.
Detailed orientation in possibilities of using historiographical texts and primary sources in teaching history and knowledge of specific methods.
Prerequisites
Overview of chosed research topics from Early Modern history on BA state exam level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary)

Active participation, preparation to each class, reading assignements, participation in discussion, preparation of mock teaching classes based on working with texts.
