Course content
Lessons of conservation and restoration of archaeological metal artefacts. Practices with archaeological metal finds. Mechanical cleaning (manual and sand blasting), conservation and restoration of metal artefacts. Morpho-typological description of metals in a descriptive system and digital data processing in a database program (e.g., MS Access).

Learning outcomes
Acquiring practical experiences with the processing of archaeological metal material and describing it in a descriptive system.
Knowledge of techniques in the conservation and restoration of archaeological metal artefacts. Acquisition of practical skills - conservation and restoration of archaeological metals, morpho-typological description of metals in a descriptive system, and digital data processing.
Prerequisites
The basic overview in the archaeological cultures in Central Europe.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of Activities ( Technical works), Systematic Observation of Student

Participation in the introductory tutorial - 1 hour: introduction to the content and method of study of the subject. Participation in the ongoing tutorial: 4 lectures devoted to selected activities within DEA3. Consultations - at least two consultations at the beginning and during the semester: determination of the individual study procedure and assignment of tasks. Additional ongoing consultations are possible, as needed by the student. Students can choose the form of consultation with teachers, either in person or via email, Zoom, or other means. Study progress is monitored by assigning a series of tasks that students must complete between consultations.
