Topics: a) grammatical norm (necessary overlaps into teh standard ortographical norm) b) current issues of morphology - difficulties of declension and conjugation c) stylistic characteristics of grammatical device, expressive means d) construction of texts, text coherence (formal cohesion of text) e) specific language means of scientific texts - such as expression of current events, expressing cause and purpose, modality, f) the specifics of the spoken text - in presenting an oral report in PowerPoint, etc. g) means of evaluation, argumentation, persuasion h) work with basic manual - spelling, grammar, dictionaries, online language guides.

The course focuses on mastering grammatical (and ortographical) norm of standard Czech, on stylistic evaluation of language devices, development of written skills (academic texts), development of communicational skills in oral performance. An incrreased attention will be paid to the construction of texts.
Knowledge of grammar (and spelling) standards, the ability to judge the stylistic values of language devices, communication skills for presentations, panel discussion, etc. Ability to construct the text. |
