Learning outcomes
|
The last semester of a four-semester course in German language for students of "The History of Art and the Theory of Art" is aimed at simultaneous development of general and specialized language. The general part seeks to improve knowledge of grammatical structures and vocabulary resulting in better communication skills. The specialized part involves work with various kinds of specialized texts and acquisition of specialized vocabulary. After successful completion of the whole course, the students will achieve target level of A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Comprehensive development of all language skills - speaking, listening comprehension, reading, writing. Acquisition of basic vocabulary related to art history and working with various kinds of specialized texts. Prerequisites
|
The course is primarily designated for students of History of Art. The lecturer may allow other students to enrol for the course provided they are interested in learning specialized vocabulary and grammar found in current texts in German related to art history. Language level - Lower Intermediate German - A1. The course is not designated for complete beginners.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Didactic Test
Credit - requirements for granting certification: 1. Course attendance - maximum of 2 absences. Absence from the class is in no case a reason for being unprepared in the following seminar. If the student is not prepared, he/she can be regarded as being absent. 2. Active participation in the classes, regular home preparation, written home assignments/prescribed credit works, one obligatory presentation (MS Power Point) on individually chosen topic related to student´s major. 3. Passing so-called "regular tests" throughout the semester (passing level always 75%). Students who have not achieved given passing level shall write a comprehensive credit test in the following exam period. Warning: Students are obliged to finish every course by the end of exam period of the semester in which they enrolled for the course!
