Learning outcomes
|
This is the second semester of a two-semester course for students of Sociology/Adult Education/Cultural Anthropology with a very good command of English. It will develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills mainly in dealing with specialized texts related to the studenta' respective fields of studies. Length of the course: 2 semesters The student receives 4 credits at the end of each of the two semesters (the total of 8 credits). When the students succeed in fulfilling the requirements for both semesters, they can sit for the exam (ASAPZ). When they pass the exam successfully, they receive 2 credits. Total number of credits for the course: 10 By attending the two-term course and passing the exam students reach the B1+ level as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The students will improve their knowledge of grammar and communication skills. The students will learn how to read and practice reading sociological texts. The students will enlarge their knowledge of subject-related vocabulary. By attending the two-term course and passing the exam students reach the B1+level as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written exam
- Attendance max. 2 absences - Active participation in classes - Homework grammar, texts etc. - Passing the final grammar test (min. 70%) - Presentations on a topic from the student's study field (subject-related text of the extent of 10 pages)
