Course content
|
Basic characteristics of human resource management (with regard to the development of the knowledge economy, the characteristics of knowledge workers, specifics of the management of knowledge workers) Western roots of HRM vs. Eastern traditions Corporate vision, mission and values and their importance for human resources management. Setting the vision, mission, values, and methods of their dissemination and sharing. Job-creating and job analysis. The use of the Integrated System of Type Positions, The National System of Professions. Personnel planning (with regard to national and international economic development). Recruitment, the current situation in the labor market in the Czech Republic and in the world. Employee selection - basic procedures. Orientation and adaptation (onboarding) of new staff - an overview. Recent approaches to motivation, job design approach Evaluation. Evaluation of the work. Employees evaluation. Specifics of evaluation of knowledge workers. This course is upgraded by the current trends in HRM with regard to the development of knowledge and creative economy and the growing importance of social technologies for the management of companies and their employees.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to develop the skills necessary for establishing and maintaining successful employment relations in current economic, social and technological environment. The course focuses on defining of the principles of human resource management. Students must understand the human resource management system in a sense of the coherence of its various areas.

Systematic Observation of Student, Seminar Work
Students will complete the course using the LMS Moodle (updated materials will be available in Moodle at the beginning of the semester). Tasks must be completed according to the assignments specified in Moodle. The course consists of a theoretical (lecture-based) part and an application-oriented (practical) part. The practical part builds on the theoretical content and is dedicated to the analysis of tasks that students will work on during the lecture sessions. Students will be divided into groups for the practical sessions (as assigned by the instructor). Attendance at the assigned practical session is MANDATORY. Absence may only be excused for serious reasons officially confirmed (e.g., medical or administrative documentation). Further details will be provided during the first class. The grouping of students for the practical sessions will be organized during the first half of the semester.
