week 1 - Class orientation: Introduction, expectations and syllabus review week 2 - Regional geography of Korea; Types and characteristics of tourism Resources in Korea; Understanding Assignments 1 week 3 - Korea's natural resources: Mountain tourism resources; Q&A about the case study presentation week 4 - Korea's natural Resources: Marine tourism resources; Case study presentation week 5 - Korea's social resources: Food and beverage; Case study presentation week 6 - Korea's social resources: Filming locations for movies, dramas, and music videos; Case study presentation week 7 - Korea's social resources: Festivals and special events; Case study presentation week 8 - Korea's cultural resources: UNESCO-designated World Cultural Heritage; Case study presentation week 9 - Korea's cultural resources: Palaces, temples, ancient tombs, traditional folk villages; Case study presentation week 10 - Korea's industrial resources: Traditional markets, large shopping malls, IT and games; Q&A about the final presentation week 11 - Students' final presentation week 12 - Students' final presentation week 13 - Students' final presentation; Finalizing the course

ZS 2025/26: Korean Geography and Tourism prof. Soo-Hyun Jun, Ph.D. In this class, we will seek to understand and analyze various types and characteristics of tourism resources in Korea. Students conduct a case study of Korea in terms of tourism resources and share the results by making a presentation. In the end of the semester, students develop a detailed travel plan to Korea, which they will present in classes.
